Orbit Skills

Orbit skills are optional guidance packages for AI clients that support Agent Skills.

They help clients follow Orbit conventions instead of making broad, unstructured edits to Microsoft 365-backed notes.

Install Orbit skills when you want an AI client to help with:

  • Safe note edits.
  • Note authoring.
  • Meeting note cleanup.
  • Source ingest.
  • Wiki setup.
  • Wiki linting.
  • Querying workspace knowledge.

Install skills from the command line for clients that support Agent Skills.

Examples include:

Terminal window
npx -y @orbit/skills install claude-code
npx -y @orbit/skills install claude-chat
npx -y @orbit/skills install claude-cowork
npx -y @orbit/skills install codex
npx -y @orbit/skills install opencode

Only run commands for tools your organization allows.

The Connect to MCP settings in Orbit provide the MCP URL and workspace context. Skill installation is separate from connecting a client to Orbit.

Skills do not replace permissions. They do not grant access to private workspaces. Review AI output before using it as final content.

Skills give the client better rules for working with Orbit content.
