Related Notes and Graph
Orbit builds knowledge views from links between notes.
Related notes
Section titled “Related notes”Related notes appear near the current note when enabled. Use them to continue reading without opening the full graph.
In the editor, related notes appear in the note navigation area near the table of contents. Select a related note to open it.
Related notes are best for:
- Project context.
- Meeting follow-ups.
- Decision history.
- Nearby technical notes.
Backlink context
Section titled “Backlink context”Backlink context helps you find notes that reference the note you are reading. Orbit shows it through related notes, graph connections, or note relationship actions, depending on the workspace features in use.
Use backlinks to answer:
- Who depends on this decision?
- Where is this customer mentioned?
- Which notes refer to this process?
- What changed after this incident?
Graph view
Section titled “Graph view”Graph view shows notes as nodes and links as edges. It helps you see clusters and gaps.
Choose Graph view from the note header when it is shown. Select a note in the graph to open or inspect it.
Use graph view to find:
- Isolated notes that should be linked.
- Overloaded hub notes.
- Project clusters.
- Missing concept pages.
- Old areas that no longer connect to active work.
Rebuild link data
Section titled “Rebuild link data”If Orbit shows a rebuild or refresh action for link data, use it to update graph results for the workspace.
Use this after many notes have been imported, renamed, or linked.
