Switch and Find Workspaces
The workspace switcher sits at the top of the sidebar. Use it to move between workspaces, find shared workspaces, open Microsoft 365 storage, and remove a workspace from your Orbit list.
Open a workspace
Section titled “Open a workspace”- Open the workspace switcher.
- Select a workspace from the list.
- Orbit loads its folders, notes, tags, recent notes, and knowledge data.
Orbit remembers the last workspace you opened and returns there on your next session when possible.
Search for workspaces
Section titled “Search for workspaces”- Open the workspace switcher.
- Type at least two characters in Search Orbit workspaces….
- Select a workspace if it appears.
Workspace search finds Orbit workspaces that match your search and that Orbit can verify you can access. It does not browse every SharePoint or OneDrive location in your tenant.
Open storage in Microsoft 365
Section titled “Open storage in Microsoft 365”Workspace actions show a Microsoft 365 button when Orbit has a connected OneDrive or SharePoint location to open.
Use this when you need to:
- Confirm where content lives.
- Review Microsoft 365 permissions.
- Inspect uploaded files.
- Recover a file using Microsoft 365 version or recycle-bin tools.
Remove a workspace from your list
Section titled “Remove a workspace from your list”Some shared workspaces can be removed from your personal Orbit list without deleting the underlying Microsoft 365 files.
Remove a workspace when:
- You no longer work in that space.
- A duplicate or test workspace appears in your switcher.
- You want to reduce clutter.
Duplicate workspace names
Section titled “Duplicate workspace names”If two workspaces have the same name, Orbit shows owner or location context when it has that information. Rename ambiguous workspaces from workspace settings.
