Comments and Mentions
Comments are for discussion about specific text, sections, or ideas. Use them when a question should stay attached to the work.
Add a comment
Section titled “Add a comment”- Select the text or section you want to discuss.
- Choose the comment action.
- Write the comment.
- Submit it.
The comment stays anchored to the selected content while the text still exists.
Reply to a thread
Section titled “Reply to a thread”Open the comment and reply in the thread.
Resolve a thread
Section titled “Resolve a thread”Resolve a comment when the question has been answered or the requested change has been made.
You can filter comment threads by:
- Active.
- Resolved.
- All.
Reopen a thread
Section titled “Reopen a thread”Reopen a resolved thread when the issue returns or the resolution was incomplete.
Use reactions
Section titled “Use reactions”Use reactions from the comment thread when they are available.
Mention a teammate
Section titled “Mention a teammate”Use @ in the comment composer when someone needs to see the thread. Search for the person, select them, finish the comment, and submit it.
Mentions appear in the activity or notification area. A mention does not grant access by itself.
Comments and permissions
Section titled “Comments and permissions”People need access to the note to see or interact with comments. If someone cannot open a comment link, check workspace or note-specific sharing.
If you mention someone who cannot open the note, share the note with them or invite them to the workspace.
Find comments that need attention
Section titled “Find comments that need attention”Use the comments panel to review active threads. Use Activity and Notifications to find replies and mentions addressed to you.
When a comment no longer points to the right text
Section titled “When a comment no longer points to the right text”If the selected text changed, create a new comment on the current text and resolve the old thread.
