What's new
The notable changes shipped in Orbit, newest first.
September 2026
Section titled “September 2026”- Meeting notes — add a
/meetingblock that keeps your rough notes, the Teams transcript, and an AI summary together. Pull the transcript from your Teams calendar or paste/upload a.vttor.txtfile. See Meeting notes. - Meetings panel — the new Meetings view in the sidebar lists every meeting block in the workspace by its title, shows today’s and tomorrow’s Teams meetings, and creates a meeting note in the folder you choose. See Meeting notes.
- Properties — a YAML header at the top of a note renders as a Properties card, and Edit properties opens a structured dialog for adding, typing, and removing fields. See Properties.
- Comments redesigned — threads open in the note’s right margin level with their text, Show all comments docks a panel with Open, Resolved, and All filters, and resolved threads leave the note entirely. See Comments and mentions.
- Comments travel with the file — saved comments are stored in the note’s markdown file, so exports, version downloads, and Microsoft 365 version restores keep them. See Versions, export, and trash.
- Mention anyone in your organization —
@suggestions search your Microsoft 365 directory after a one-time permission, not just people already on the note. A mention still never grants access. See Comments and mentions. - Ask Orbit chat history in your OneDrive — conversations, pins, and archives are saved to an Orbit Chat History folder in your own OneDrive and follow you across devices. See Ask chat history.
- Bring your own Azure OpenAI — organization admins can point Ask Orbit at their own Azure OpenAI or Microsoft Foundry deployment and choose which workspaces are included. See Manage your organization.

.htmland.htmfiles convert to notes alongside Word and PDF, including Confluence and Word “Save as web page” exports. See Import files. - Sticky table headers — the header row stays visible while you scroll a long table. See Tables.
- Delete a workspace — workspace admins can permanently delete a workspace from its settings. Orbit’s data is removed; files in OneDrive or SharePoint are kept. See Workspace settings.
- Sidebar stays current — notes and folders created, renamed, moved, or deleted by teammates appear in your file tree within seconds, without a refresh.
- Easier reading — heavier base text, real paragraph spacing, and tighter line height across notes.
- Meeting blocks from AI clients — Claude, Codex, and Copilot can add a finished meeting block with the
orbit_add_meeting_blocktool. See MCP tool reference. - Live editing served from Australia — workspaces in Australian tenants now connect to a collaboration server in Australia East. See Data residency.
